The comedy scene in Mexico is very controversial, as certain representatives of this industry are often involved in controversy due to violent or misogynistic jokes. Such has been the case of Platanito, when he recently spoke in a mocking tone about the femicide of Debanhi Escobar, or Franco Escamilla, who in days gone by said that men only need women to be “quiet, have sex and cook.” .
Regarding all this, Michelle Rodríguez broke the silence and during a press conference on the occasion of the first edition of the Love & Pride festival, she forcefully assured that comedy should not hurt people, much less violate them.
“I think there are many ways to do intelligent comedy and something that also seems very important to me is what kind of comedy we are consuming. To transmit, communicate from a different place”, he began to mention.
Likewise, the collaborator of programs such as Me caigo de risa delved into the fact that the public also had an active influence on the situation.
“But also in those of us who consume, (ask ourselves) what we consume. Because if we continue consuming speeches that only perpetuate things that continue to hurt, that continue to do violence… there are many intelligent ways of doing comedy without going over anyone and above all learning to see what we are consuming. It seems to me that if we did that, it would be easier for the comedians, ”she asserted.

Franco Escamilla is one of the comedians who is still in the eye of the hurricane, this after he told some misogynistic jokes in days gone by.
“It is very easy to know what a man wants. Al chile, if you are a woman and you are wondering what men want, go and check yourself out. Chris Rock explained it perfectly when he said ‘man wants food, sex and silence’”, he commented in a clip that quickly went viral on networks.
Also, during his comment, the standupero delved a little more into the fact that men were very easy to please if women followed his advice.
“There is no better proof of love than being able to be quiet for five minutes with your partner, but if you are one of those who spend two and a half minutes and say: ‘Would you still love me if I am a YouTube algorithm?’, chin ** your mother,” said the actor.
Another famous person who was also criticized is Platanito, who made a “joke” about the femicide of Debanhi Escobar during one of his shows.

Faced with this situation, the young woman’s parents decided to take legal action against the comedian for revictimizing their daughter.
“I am sure that he makes his show and profits from the pain of the people who have gone through this situation, I think it is not correct, he has not put himself in the shoes of the parents. If he were in our place, I think he would bother him just the same, he must have respect, he must have another context to do his show and respect people who no longer have life, ”Debanhi’s mother commented on some moment.
It should be noted that both Platanito and Franco Escamilla did not apologize for their comments and even broke out, respectively, against those who criticized them.
“I thank the race that puts on the shirt and jumps for me in networks, I do not answer them because then the race answers very violently and as I tell you on the show, hate generates hate. I am trying to do comedy, if that generates hatred for some people, it is their decision, ”Franco said in his program La mesa reñoña after his most recent controversy.
