British former singer Gary Glitter has been jailed again, a month after he was released. This is reported by British media. Glitter, 78, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was released on parole in February after serving half of his 16-year prison sentence in England. He was convicted of child abuse.
Gadd has to go back to prison because, according to the probation service, he did not comply with the conditions of his release. Upon his release, he was fitted with, among other things, an electronic ankle bracelet with a GPS signal. He also had to report a trip abroad in good time. It is not clear what conditions he violated.
Abuse of young girls
Gadd was convicted in 2015 by a London judge of rape of a child under the age of 13, attempted rape and four counts of sexual assault. The abuse played out in the 1970s and 1980s, when the glam rock artist was one of the most famous British artists with songs like Do you wanna touch me? (Oh yeah!). Gadd has always denied the allegations.
At the beginning of this century, Gadd was also convicted of child abuse. He was imprisoned in Vietnam for almost three years for assaulting an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl. He was later deported to Britain. Years earlier, in the late 1990s, he had already been imprisoned for four months for possession of child pornography.
