Xandra Velzeboer won her second world title on Sunday at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Seoul. Suzanne Schulting received a penalty in the final and grabbed the medals at her favorite distance.
Velzeboer was already the best in the 500 meters on Saturday. The 21-year-old Dutchman was also in a class of his own in the double distance a day later.
Schulting rarely loses in the 1,000 meters. The 25-year-old Frisian became world champion in the kilometer in 2019 and 2021. In addition, she took Olympic gold in 2018 and 2022 at her favorite distance.
