The National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL) informed through its social networks that a posthumous tribute will be paid to the first actor Ignacio López Tarso, who died on Saturday, March 11 at the age of 98. The event will be held in agreement with the family of the interpreter and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, with an opening for the general public.

It was through a publication that INBAL mourned the sensitive death of the actor, recognizing the importance of his performances. “The first theater, film and television actor, Ignacio López Tarso was a vital figure in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. His career will be a benchmark in the history of the country’s scenic art ”, reads the first tweet made by the institute.
He then explained that “The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and INBAL, in agreement with his family, will make a posthumous tribute.”

The first Mexican actor trained at the Academy of Dramatic Art of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA), entering in 1949, which during that time was the only theater school in Mexico. He found himself under the teachings of Xavier Villaurrutia.
He had his theater debut as an INBA student in William Shekespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as having his professional start with Garson Kanin’s Born Yesterday in 1951.
