Road accident in Chiapas left at least 10 people dead

A collision between an Urvan and a dump truck carrying gravel and sand has left at least 10 dead, this at kilometer 17 of the Palenque-Playas de Catazajá highway section, in Chiapas. In addition to leaving 7 injured, who are already being treated by emergency elements that came to the scene to provide help.

In recordings shared by users on social networks, a smoke screen is observed that rises several meters, while people are lying on the asphalt layer as a result of the crash. On the side of the road you can see the impacted truck being consumed by flames.

The van was carrying out the transfer of personnel from a private company. Some deceased people were burned inside the Urban.

According to what was reported by witnesses to the situation, the driver of the truck that was transporting the employees lost control when he tried to pass, causing it to hit head-on and an explosion occurred instantly that engulfed the Urvan.

Among the deceased are the drivers of both units. The emergency services are transferring the injured to the nearest hospitals, in addition to the fact that work continues to recover the bodies that were burned, for which reason the names of the victims have not been released.
