After several weeks hospitalized at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN), José Abelardo Gutiérrez ‘Tongo’ died this Friday, March 10, due to kidney failure. This was confirmed by his wife through social networks.

“Forever in my heart, adored husband, partner of a lifetime, I have to accept your departure even if my soul breaks, rest in peace, my husband Abelardo Gutierrez Alanya ‘TONGO’,” Gladys Lupinta wrote on her Facebook account.
As is recalled, Tongo entered the health center at the end of December 2022. From that moment, his relatives explained that the popular artist’s situation was complicated, since in addition to kidney failure, he was also fighting cancer and diabetes. That is why his loved ones asked the public not to stop praying for him.
Tongo’s daughter, Cinthia Gutiérrez, also took to social media to say goodbye to the singer. With a photo of her where she is seen with her mother, the interpreter also dedicated a few words to her and described him as her best father.

“Special people never die, they remain in our hearts and memory, you were a great father, the best, you filled many people with joy, you will never be forgotten, now is the time for you to fly high and sing up there in the sky, I will from here for you, we love you forever daddy,” the young woman wrote on her Instagram account.
It should be noted that hours before, Cinthia or Cint G (stage name) made a publication where she announced that she was canceling all her interviews for the day, “for personal reasons.” Hours later, the sad news was confirmed.

The reaction of his followers was not long in coming. Many gave him strength and remembered Tongo as an artist. “Thank you Tongo for so many laughs, I’ve been following you since I was little, Tongué flies high,” wrote a follower.

On that occasion, the interpreter indicated that her father’s health was delicate. “Your prognosis for him is reserved, we can only wait in good faith,” she said at the time.
