Vancouver Whitecaps FC thrashes and dreams of qualifying

For the round of 16 of CONCACAF 5 – CONCACAF Champions League 2023, Whitecaps FC added three with the resounding 5-0 victory against Real España. Tristan Blackmon (20′ 1T), Ryan Raposo (13′ 2T), Pedro Vite (24′ 2T), Brian White (32′ 2T) and Devron García (18′ 2T, against) were the authors of the team’s overwhelming victory local.

Brian White earned applause with his brilliant finish 32 minutes into the second half. Ryan Raposo served up a cross and the striker kicked the ball into the back of the net.

Ryan Gauld had a great performance. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder made 47 correct passes and kicked 4 times.

Ryan Raposo also stood out. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender was important by converting 1 goal.

The process of the game was fought and with a lot of friction during the 90 minutes. There was only one card, in the 6th minute of the first half Ranko Veselinovic received a yellow card.

Whitecaps FC manager Vanni Sartini laid out a 4-5-1 tactical setup with Yohei Takaoka in goal; Mathías Laborda, Ranko Veselinovic, Tristan Blackmon and Ryan Raposo on the defensive line; Julian Gressel, Andrés Cubas, Pedro Vite, Cristian Dájome and Ryan Gauld in the middle; and Sergio Córdova in attack.

For their part, Julio Pablo Rodríguez’s team came out with a 4-3-3 tactical arrangement with Luis López under the three sticks; Junior García, Devron García, Getsel Montes and Franklin Flores in defense; Carlos Mejía, Gerson Chávez and Jhow Benavídez in midfield; and Juan Vieyra, Darixon Vuelto and Ramiro Rocca up front.

Fernando Hernández Gómez was in charge of supervising the order of play during the match.

Whitecaps FC practically signed their pass to the Quarterfinals by achieving a massive victory in the first game against Real España. The return is scheduled for Wednesday March 15.
