Two people have been killed in a failed robbery at Chile’s national airport. According to the Chilean authorities, the robbers targeted a passenger plane from Miami that had a large amount of money on board.

Before then, about ten robbers managed to get close to the landed plane with three cars after they had tied up a security guard.

A firefight ensued near the plane, Deputy Interior Minister Monsalve said at a press conference. An airport employee and one of the robbers were killed. The other suspects fled.
