Lilibet, the daughter of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, was baptized almost two years after she was born. A spokesperson for the couple told People magazine that a ceremony took place in Los Angeles last Friday.
No other British royals were present, although they were invited, according to one source.
According to insiders, about 20 to 30 people attended the baptism, including Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and actor and close friend Tyler Perry. The latter is Lilibet’s godfather. He also received Harry and Meghan after they left the United Kingdom permanently.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have waited longer to be christened than their son Archie. He was baptized in Windsor Castle’s private chapel two months after his birth in 2019.
Less than a year after the birth of Archie, the couple announced that they would step back from the British royal family. Then the couple moved to the United States.
