Jorge Lanata spoke about the crack at the 2013 Martín Fierro Awards ceremony
“The word arose in the delivery of the Martin Fierro 2013 and I only limited myself to commenting on what I saw from the stage: people who used to greet me and then not, I myself stopped greeting other people”, shot Jorge Lanata and served as kick off for an extensive interview with Ernesto Tenembaum on Radio con Vos. “I hate the moral authority argument more than anything in the field of Human Rights. Let them run me to the left today because I am saying that the crack must be closed, it is silly. You have a lot of people watching who tell you what you have to do, ”he said.
“I think it is very difficult to overcome it, at that time I said that it was going to transcend governments and it happened, but let’s remember that the rift started from Kirchnerism.” And he noted that the subsequent reaction “was equally ultra.” For him, the origin of the crack had only one person responsible: Cristina Kirchner. “She decides to divide and choose an enemy that was journalism and that’s how she created a crack from top to bottom, something that was later replicated, that’s how she started.”
Tenembaum recognized that he contributed to the construction of the rift and decided to stop when it was time to continue fighting someone. “I clicked, did you click one?” he asked her. “I described the crack in those Martín Fierro and never made an apology for the division. We are the Homeland, the Nation and the people said the K… who am I? what the hell am i That monopolistic idea that you represent everything did not come from me, but from Kirchnerism, from the top down.”
“I lost many friends due to the crack, like the cartoonist Miguel Rep whom I would like to recover. I also distanced myself from Fito Páez and Joaquín Sabina, he cooled down because of the way of thinking, not because of a particular discussion, ”he recalled.
Regarding the vice president, he maintained that “she has to be in prison and could not participate in the electoral process. I denounced the K like no one, ”she said,
“It is difficult to say if I fed the rift, that it does with irrational arguments. I think we are in another place, we give our opinion with concrete data, with facts, a large part of the judicial cases were contributed by us”, while he recalled that in PPT (Periodismo Para Todos) both the K and the antiK looked at them: “some looked at me to bitch me and the others to ratify what they think”.
“The reasoning that every Kirchnerista is a jet is just stupid to generalize, no one could say that something like that is true. I have the feeling that there are a lot of people who are honest types and who believe because ideologically they believe it. It seems to me that thinking from the ultra on either side is idiotic, ”he argued.
In addition, Lanata proposed that, as an electoral strategy, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta should propose something like this (in reference to the crack) in a second round of the presidential elections, if he shows up and enters, but not in the first. “I still don’t think he was on people’s agenda right now. It is obvious that whoever wins, if it is not Kirchnerism, has to try to invoke some kind of consensus, then there are limits to that consensus,” argued the journalist who maintains that for this search for dialogue “everyone reputed me.”
“It always happens that one sometimes says things with which one is not satisfied. I always said that I’m not a clown that they hire to animate their little party. I say what I think and if they don’t agree, they don’t agree.”
Lanata also recalled when on Channel 26 (in the DDT program -Después De Todo-) he made an editorial about the acquisition of Papel Prensa and also stated that he had been denouncing the dictatorship for 20 years. “Let me think,” she emphasized and recalled that “we were throwing dolls at Cristina while you were bullshitting in her house,” she said, referring to the early years of Kirchnerism in the country.
The journalist maintained that at that time he felt like someone who was “in the middle of the ring fighting while below there are a lot of people bathed and combed who write down the blows I give.” Although he firmly detached himself: “but I have nothing to do with them”, while adding that “opining for free does not make much sense”, he completed regarding Twitter users who “do not have a life”.
Tenembaum recalled that “something happens between the Lanata of the resentful old woman (referring to Cristina) and the one who says that you have to stop with the blind ultra k”. To this, his interviewee took the glove: “I see the anti-K as ruthless with a right-wing and anti-Peronist vision that I did not like.”
And he recalled his Peronist origins “it is the party that sat down the working class at the table, that had not happened before, I am from Sarandí and as a boy I was a Peronist.” And he ruled on Perón’s doctrine: “As long as there is a poor person in Argentina, Peronism is going to exist and it seems logical to me that this should happen.” Although he added: “With Perón’s Peronism, I would have been in prison.”
Another of the interesting passages of the interview was when Lanata recalled that for the 1983 elections he voted for Ítalo Argentino Luder. “I voted for him, I remember that I was writing in a pizzeria in Constitución and I saw the two marches go by, that of Alfonsín and that of Luder. I had to be with the blacks, I am not from the enlightened middle class, ”she recalled comparing herself to the Radio con Vos host.
When asked by Gustavo Grabia, about why he did not investigate Mauricio Macri and invite him to his wedding, Lanata answered without hesitation: “If we found Macri or Larreta counting twine in La Rosadita, we would denounce him. At 63 years old, it breaks my balls to explain why I have to invite someone to a private party.
And he added: “I would have also invited Massa because I have known him for 30 years, but he was not going to fill the wedding of politicians. I don’t feel like explaining anything, I’m not a public official, what’s more, I’m a big taxpayer,” he added.
“What do you think of Alberto Fernández?” Tenembaum inquired in relation to the last speech of the president opening the last legislative sessions. To which Lanata replied: “He makes me sad, he is a person who is not up to power. It is a pity, he is deceived by the situation, he only believes that he can get re-elected: he does not see it, ”he said.
There was also a space to comment on Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador. “He is a dictator, that mega prison that he built, I wish ours were like that, they are a villa,” he says sardonically and completed that “I am not going to propose the Bukele solution for Argentina.”
And he closed with a topical topic, the terrorist drug violence in Rosario. “I think that there has to be a State of exception, I don’t know if it is the solution but the province would have to intervene if the security issue is attacked.”
