Santiago Buitrago was the best Colombian runner in the first stage of the Tirreno Adriatico. The Bahrain-Victorious rider had a time of 13.38 in the individual time trial and was ranked 35th of the day, 1:10 behind the Italian from INEOS Grenadiers, Filippo Ganna, who won the fraction with a time of 12:28. The podium was completed by Lennard Kämma from Bora Hansgrohe and Magnus Sheffiled, also from the British squad.
