One of the main dreams of every human being is to be able to become independent from their parents’ house and build their own home and lead a life like any functional adult in the 21st century.

Well, in a country like Peru, you have two options: you have enough money to buy your own apartment or you enroll in the Techo Propio program. This in order for the State to give you a hand to achieve this dream.
However, to be a beneficiary of this program you must meet certain requirements to fulfill the long-awaited desire of owning your own home.

Whatever your intention when enrolling in this program (buy, build or improve a home) make sure you are part of a family. In this sense, the head of this group may register one or more people as dependents.
These can be the spouse, partner, children, siblings or grandchildren under 25 years of age or children over 25 years of age with disabilities, parents or grandparents.
To carry out the corresponding registration of the family group, the head must show his and his partner’s ID. Also have on hand all the complete information of the other members of the family group (name, ID and date of birth).

If there is a spouse or cohabitant, then the form must be signed by him (or her) and the head of the family. If they are married, the signature of one of them will suffice.
You can register at any authorized center or office of the Mi Vivienda Fund. The addresses can be found on their page at mivivienda.com.pe.
Once you comply with the process, the FMV will review if you met the requirements. If everything is positive, they will just be registered in the Family Group Registry as an Eligible Family Group (GFE).

In relation to what the GFE earns, that is, their monthly income, if they are going to buy a house, then they cannot exceed S/3,715.
If the case were for a prioritized Social Interest Housing (VIS), the amount changes up to S/2,071. If what you are looking for is to build or improve a house, the IFM can be up to S/2,706.
It is worth remembering that these amounts can be updated year after year, through a resolution of the Ministry of Housing.

Vital point to receive government aid is not having received housing support from the State. And if what you want is to buy a house, then they will not be able to have another piece of land in your name or that of any member of the family group.

But if what you are looking for is to build or improve a home, then you must own the place where the work will be carried out. It must be duly registered in the Public Records, without charges or encumbrances, nor own another house elsewhere.
To be a beneficiary of the BHF, corresponding to the Home improvement product, the family group must have at least a saving of S/880.00. This amount could change if the upgrade you want to make costs more.
This money must be deposited in the FMV (Own Roof – Housing Improvement) Collection Account of Banco Interbank. The detail is that since it does not include ITF or commission, these must be added at the time of making the deposit.

The ‘Own Roof’ program has three modalities so that families who do not have the necessary resources can access a home, after qualification, of course.
These are:
1. Acquisition of a new home
Facilitates the financing of a social interest home (VIS). The same one that will have the services of electricity, drinking water and drainage,
2. On-site construction
This is for those people who want to build a VIS on land they own.
3. Housing improvement
In this modality, the works of remodeling, rehabilitation, culmination or extension of the house are allowed.
