Volodímir Zelenski has stated that he held constructive talks with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. According to Zelensky, the two leaders spoke of “diplomatic efforts to stop Russian aggression.”
The Ukrainian president also claimed that Russia will face the consequences of its latest deadly attack on Zaporizhia:
“Today’s brutal Russian missile attack on Zaporizhia will be met with our military and legal response. The occupier will inevitably feel our force. The force of justice in every sense of the word. And I want to thank all our rescuers who since last night they are clearing the rubble from the house whose block was destroyed by the missile.”
Meanwhile, Ukrainian military expert Roman Svitan said the Russians have been trying to encircle Bakhmut for several months with no luck.
“The Russians are now squeezed, and they simply cannot advance anywhere, except to try to make it in the Bakhmut area, which is an information symbol for them. In the last six months they have been calling attention, talking about victory, about willingness to take full control,” Svitan said.
In Borodianka, not far from the capital, three unidentified bodies have been exhumed.
The regional police chief says they have found “1,373 bodies of our citizens” since the end of the occupation last year.
