Whatever the reasons for acquiring one of these coveted pieces, it is good to know that their cost is not stable, it changes every day, it can go up as well as down.

The value of gold and silver coins basically depends on the international price of precious metals, as well as the exchange rate of the peso against the dollar. Therefore, here are the costs of the pieces this Friday, February 3.

The Bank of Mexico (Banxico) has a list of authorized sellers of gold and silver at the national level, made up mainly of banks, although it also has other options.

Citibanamex includes in its currency section the price of the Gold Centennial, which it buys at 24,300 pesos and sells at 44,300 pesos, this Friday.

Banco Azteca, for its part, has the value of one Liberty Ounce of silver, which they buy for 459 pesos and sell for 559 pesos, this February 3.

While Banorte has a whole section of metals in which the Centenario de oro is quoted at 36,500 pesos for purchase and 47,000 pesos for sale; the gold Azteca at 13,200 pesos for the purchase and 19,980 for the sale; the gold Hidalgo at 6,600 pesos for purchase and 9,990 pesos for sale; and the Liberty Ounce of silver at 550 pesos for sale and 350 pesos for purchase, for today.

BanRegio only includes the sale price of the Centennial of gold and the Liberated Ounce of silver, at 47,658 pesos and 580 pesos, respectively, this Friday.

The gold family is made up of three types of coins: Centenario, Azteca and Hidalgo, according to information from the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).

The Centenario was born in 1921 as a current mint coin to commemorate the first 100 years of the independence of Mexico, its original value was 50 pesos.

It was in circulation for a decade, until its minting was suspended in 1931, however it returned in 1943 due to the growing demand for gold coins.

On its obverse face, the Centennial shows the national shield and on its reverse the Winged Victory that is located on top of the Ángel de la Independencia, as well as the Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl volcanoes in the background.

According to Banxico, the Centenario has a pure gold content of 1.20565 ounces and, like all the pieces in the Centenario family, its purity is 0.900.

For its part, the Silver Liberty Ounce has the same design as the gold Centennial: the national shield on the obverse and the Winged Victory of the Angel of Independence monument and the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes in the background.

The emergence of the Liberty Ounce was to replace in the market the silver piece known as troy ounce of scale and make it uniform with the gold pieces, also giving it character with liberating power.

The main gold and silver coins (Infobae)

In recent years, Banxico has released new versions of the Libertad series of the silver coin, but instead of one ounce it is one kilo, which it delivers in a matte or mirror finish, in a beautiful presentation case and certificate of authenticity. .

Regarding the Azteca, Banxico explains that it was initially minted in 1917, with an original value of 20 pesos and a content of 0.48227 ounces of pure gold.

On its obverse it also has the national coat of arms and on its reverse the stone of the Aztec calendar.

The last gold coin is the Hidalgo, which was born under the 1905 reform with an original value of 10 pesos and a content of 0.24113 ounces of pure gold.

It was the first gold coin to have a national hero on its back: Miguel Hidalgo, hence his name. Like the previous coins, on its obverse it has the national coat of arms.

The Hidalgo has its versions of 5, 2.5 and 2 pesos, with a content of 0.12057 ounces, 0.06028 ounces and 0.04823 ounces of pure gold, respectively.
