What is the great challenge of Nuevo León to take care of its water before the arrival of Tesla
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the Gigafactory will be built in the municipality of Santa Catarina, for which Infobae México spoke exclusively with a science teacher to explain the importance of water treatment in the new project
This was confirmed this Wednesday afternoon by its CEO, Elon Musk, during Investor Day 2023 from Austin, Texas, where the company’s headquarters are located.
In front of dozens of guests, including the Governor of Nuevo León and the Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Samuel García and Martha Delgado, respectively, the American magnate pointed out that his company’s growth expectations are that by 2030 they are a key part of a sustainable economy, building long-range aircraft and ships that use another type of energy other than coal.

The funniest and most ingenious memes left by Tesla’s arrival in Mexico
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed the million-dollar investment of Elon Musk’s automotive company in Monterrey, Nuevo León
At 6:20 p.m., Musk made the long-awaited announcement, which he described as the most significant of Investor Day 2023. Accompanied by his main team, he pointed out that Tesla is having a very strong demand in 2023, so they must be trained to respond through an expansion.
“We need to build factories that make work faster and more efficient, which will result in delivering better cars”
For this reason, the wealthiest man in the world decided to install his sixth plant in the border state, for which he thanked Samuel García for his presence. However, he did not detail its exact location, although it has been unofficially reported that it will be in the municipality of Santa Catarina, just 16 kilometers from Monterrey, the entity’s capital.

“The gigafactory in Mexico will be close to Monterrey and will manufacture our latest generation vehicle”
“Congratulations, Mexico!” added one of its directors, who mentioned that this plant could be operating in two years; that is, in 2025.
The new plant that would be installed in the municipality of Santa Catarina, joins those in Reno (Nevada), Buffalo (New York) and Austin, in the United States; as well as Berlin (Germany) and Shanghai (China).
However, the Mexican plant would be “the largest Tesla in the world,” according to the Nuevo León authorities, which will have an initial investment of 5 billion dollars and will produce the Semi truck, the revived Roadster sports car and the Model 3 sedan.
