Owl was saved twice from being run over on a highway in Colombia

An owl was saved from being run over twice while on a highway in Tolima, Colombia. (Reuters)

A cyclist experienced a moment of heart attack when he was taking a walk on a road in Natagaima, in the south of the Tolima department in Colombia, and witnessed how an owl was saved from being hit by a passenger bus.

Through a video, which is already going viral on social networks, the bird is observed on the side of the road set up for cyclists when the man, who is recording with his camera, narrates his peculiar encounter.

“I almost stepped on it, a baby owl, a baby owl, let’s go there, a bicycle is going to step on you,” the young Colombian can be heard saying as the owl begins to spread its wings to fly.

However, at the moment the bird decided to take flight, a passenger truck passed at full speed, saving itself by millimeters from being run over and scaring its rescuer.
