Family Allowances reach all registered workers who have minor children and whose income, like that of their family group, does not exceed the established limit
The national government formalized the measure of equalizing the income ceiling to receive Family Allowances with the income tax floor. In this way, more than 900 thousand children and adolescents will be reached by the benefit.

Through Decree 101/2023, published in the Official Gazette, the National Executive ordered that the maximum income limit applicable to holders of this benefit be raised from 158,366 pesos to 404,000 pesos, the non-taxable minimum of the Earnings regime.
With respect to the family ceiling, the national government set this figure at what results from “doubling the maximum individual income ceiling provided” by the Income Tax Law.

This measure came into force as of this month, but it is of a permanent nature, that is, as the floor for which tax begins to be updated is updated, the ceiling of those who receive Family Allowances will be updated.

The decree also clarifies that those people affected by the tax “have the right to deduct their family responsibilities from their net earnings, provided they are residents in the country, are dependent on the taxpayer and do not have net income in the year that exceeds the limit there.” established by the tax legislation”.
The amount of the benefit received by each worker in a dependency relationship decreases as the income of the Family Group increases, a figure known as IGF. With the modification of the cap, the allocations will be as follows:

– Those who receive Rank I income, that is, those up to $177,554, will receive $11,465.
– People who have a salary between $177,554 and $260,404 are included in Rank II and will receive an allowance of $7,732 per month.
– For people with income between $260,403 and $300,645, the amount of the allowance will be $4,675 per month.
– Income belonging to Rank IV, that is, between $300,645 and $808,125, will receive an allocation of $2,410.
With this decree, the Government did nothing more than make official the announcement made by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, together with the head of the National Social Security Administration (ANSES), Fernanda Raverta, on February 16.
On that occasion, Massa stressed: “It is very important that we have strength in the Social Security System”, since this measure plans to benefit more than 600,000 Argentine workers. Thus, the assignments reach a total of 2.9 million employees.

“Argentina is going through a huge challenge. On the one hand, to recover income and, on the other, to guarantee macroeconomic stability. Both are important for the purpose of guaranteeing a challenge that we have as a government, which is the recovery of income in Argentina and the improvement in its distribution”, mentioned the head of the economic portfolio.
This decision supposes a fiscal effort of approximately 4 billion pesos per month, as specified during the presentation of the new ANSES measure.
After this modification, the allocations will reach 900,000 new children and adolescents, therefore the total coverage of this program was extended to 4.4 million minors.
According to ANSES data, in the Province of Buenos Aires 384,441 children will begin to receive the benefit; in Catamarca 4,434 will; in Chaco, 6,555; in Chubut, 20,259; in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), 94,526; in Cordoba, 72,556; in Corrientes, 7,476; in Entre Ríos, 15,157; in Formosa, 2,844.
On the part of Jujuy, 7,196 boys will be incorporated; for La Pampa, 5,272; for La Rioja, 3,289; for Mendoza, 30,705; by Missions, 10,030; for Neuquén, 25,752; by Río Negro, 20,471; for Salta, 16,410; for San Juan, 12,975; for San Luis, 9,442; for Santa Cruz, 14,924; for Santa Fe, 70,868; by Santiago del Estero, 4,437; for Tierra del Fuego, 8,109; and for Tucumán, 17,277.
