Race against time in Brazil after devastating landslides in the state of Sao Paulo, the result of record rainfall in the South American country.
The death toll rises to 46, many of them children. There are at least 40 missing. More than 600 personnel, including soldiers, continue the search and rescue efforts.
Meanwhile, the authorities have begun to distribute seven and a half tons of humanitarian aid.
Some 2,500 people have been forced to flee their homes by floods and landslides.
