Thanks to reaching the semi-finals at the ABN AMRO Open, Tallon Grepe has made a big jump in the world ranking. The 26-year-old Dutchman is now in 40th place, his highest ranking ever.

Last week, the Greek track was still in 61st position, which was already a considerable improvement compared to its position at the turn of the year (95th).

Greek track only failed in the semi-finals in Rotterdam due to a defeat against Jannik Sinner, who lost to Daniil Medvedev in the final on Sunday. Earlier this year, the born Haarlemmer won the ATP tournament in Pune, India and reached the third round at the Australian Open.

With his big jump, Greek track comes close to Botic van de Zandschulp, who is still the best Dutchman in 34th place. Van de Zandschulp, who lost to Medvedev without a chance at the ABN AMRO Open in the eighth finals, wins one position.

Both Greek track and Van de Zandschulp are active this week at the ATP tournament in Doha. The Greek track will meet the Frenchman Quentin Halys in the first round. Van de Zandschulp enters the battlefield with Ilya Ivashka from Belarus.

Gijs Brouwer exchanges 160th for 116th place thanks to his surprising quarter-final place in Ahoy. Brouwer relieves Tim van Rijthoven (who drops from 110 to 122) as the third highest ranked Dutchman.

The top three is still formed by Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Stéfanos Tsitsipás. After his success in Rotterdam, Medvedev enters the top ten again: the Russian climbs from eleventh to eighth.

ATP-ranking (per 20 februari):

1. Novak Djokovic (Ser) – 7,070 points 2. Carlos Alcaraz (Spa) – 6,480 3. Stéfanos Tsitsipás (Gri) – 5,940 4. Casper Ruud (Noo) – 5,515 5. Andrey Rublev (Rus) – 3,860 34. Botic van de Zandschulp – 1,160 40. Tallon Grepes – 969 116. Gijs Brouwer – 453 122. Tim van Rijthoven – 440

Swiatek leads the women’s race

Iga Swiatek is still in the lead in the women’s race. The Polish, who won the WTA tournament in Doha on Saturday, is generously ahead of Aryna Sabalenka. Jessica Pegula is the new number three; the American exchanges penny with Ons Jabeur.

Arantxa Rus gains one place and is still the best Dutch at place 116. Suzan Lamens is 211th (that was 215th) and is the second highest ranked Dutch.

WTA ranking (as of February 20):

1. Iga Swiatek (Pol) – 10.900 punten 2. Aryna Sabalenka (Rus) – 6.100 3. Jessica Pegula (VSt) – 5.250 4. Ons Jabeur (Tun) – 5.111 5. Caroline Garcia (Fra) – 4.835 116. Arantxa Rus – 567 211. Suzan Lamens – 315 216. Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove – 305 237. Arianne Hartono – 277
