Actor Richard Belzer has passed away at the age of 78. The American was known for his role as detective John Munch in the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Belzer died Sunday morning at his home in Bozouls, France. Writer Bill Scheft was friends with the actor for many years and says Belzer struggled with health problems. His last words would have been “fuck you, motherfucker,” Scheft told The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to his work for Law & Order, Belzer was also known for the film The Groove Tube and his participation in the satirical program Saturday Night Live.
