Another 25 years in prison has been demanded against R. Kelly in the American city of Chicago. The sentence would be on top of the 30-year prison sentence the singer is currently serving in New York.
Kelly, 56, was found guilty by a jury last year of several sex crimes, including producing child pornography.
According to prosecutors, Kelly’s behavior is “sadistic” and poses a “serious danger to society,” writes the AP news agency.
“The only way to make sure he doesn’t go wrong again is to give him a sentence that will put him in prison for the rest of his life,” the court documents read.
The singer, who has been detained since 2019, was sentenced to thirty years in prison by a federal judge in New York last year in another case. He was then convicted of, among other things, leading an organization that aimed to abuse women and underage girls.
The new sentence, which will be announced on Thursday, will be added to that.
