It was for this reason that Isabel Martínez shared that, in her opinion, there should not even be a comparison between the artists, since Rigo was a phenomenon in the 80s and he only had the dissemination of his dance through the radio, since Back then, there were no social networks.

What has been the biggest concert that has taken place in Mexico? Perhaps someone who took in the zócalo or Reforma? No. It was actually a concert held in 1981 on the Santa Catarina river in Monterrey, which managed to convene more than 400,000 people! Do you know who showed up? pic.twitter.com/8ol5VkEOjJ

The organizers decided that the show would be on the Santa Catarina river because it was an accessible place for the people of Monterrey, very wide and in which massive events had already been held, since that was the place where Pope John Paul II officiated mass in his 1979 visit.
This was not the only mega-concert of the interpreter of El testamento, since he was considered one of the artists who managed to gather the most people in this type of event. He had similar shows, but not as well attended, in Mexico City.
On the other hand, Grupo Firme did manage to break the record in attendees, but only at concerts in the capital’s Zócalo. The singer who had previously managed to gather the most people in the Plaza de la Constitución was Vicente Fernández, who in 2015 sang for the 219,000 people who attended to listen to him.
Before him, the one who had broken the record in a Zócalo show was Justin Bieber in 2012 with 210 people. The Canadian barely surpassed Shakira, who almost managed to gather the same number of attendees.
