A few weeks ago, the National Election Board (JNE) indicated that the re-registration of the American Popular Revolutionary Alliance (APRA) is in process, thus trying to return to political activities in the face of an alleged early election. However, the lawyers Raúl Noblecilla and Luis Barranzuela filed a complaint to prevent it from being considered a political party.

The National Elections Jury showed the list of the 13 parties that have a valid registration and qualified for the next elections. Another 15 parties are still in full process to be registered.
According to the document presented by the lawyer of former President Evo Morales and the former Minister of the Interior in the management of Pedro Castillo, it is indicated that the party’s statute “fails to comply with the requirements in article 9” of the Law of Political Organizations.
Among them, it mentions that it must be mandatory as an “internal measure to eradicate all types of harassment against women in political life” among affiliates and candidates, whether they are invited to their lists or militants.

Jorge del Castillo, a former APRA parliamentarian, indicated that he awaits a “reflection” from the Congress of the Republic in response to a request for early elections due to the political crisis. Although he indicated that it could not be given this year, but it could be in 2024.
