President Volodimir Zelensky has urged the West to provide more weapons.
“If the delivery of weapons, specifically long-range weapons, is accelerated, not only will we not withdraw from Bakhmut, but we will start to vacate Donbas, which has been occupied since 2014,” he said.
Germany has approved the shipment of Leopard tanks, which will be sent when they are refitted. German media claim that the first shipment will be 29 tanks.
For its part, Ukraine has opened a general case against Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder and commander of the Wagner group, for war crimes.
