Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal for the Saudi Al Nassr on Friday. The 37-year-old attacker prevented a loss of points against mid-engine Al Fateh by using a penalty in injury time: 2-2.
Ronaldo seemed to score in the first half, but his goal was disallowed for offside. Al Nassr was already behind by a goal from the Spaniard Cristian Tello.
Anderson Talisca equalized just before the break, but Al Fateh took the lead again in the second half through Sofiane Bendebka. Ronaldo scored just in time with a striking penalty kick. Moments later, Al Nassr sent Talisca a red card.
It was Ronaldo’s third game in Saudi Arabia. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner won his first game against Ettifaq (1-0), but then lost to Al Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Super Cup (3-1).
Due to the draw, Al Nassr takes over the lead in the Saudi league from Al Shabab. The team of coach Rudi Garcia has also played a game less than the number two.
