What will become of the ‘new children’s pardon’?

The government abolished the children’s pardon four years ago. Through this general pardon, children of asylum seekers who have lived in the Netherlands for more than five years and actually have to leave the country were given a chance to stay.

After disagreements within the coalition parties VVD, CDA, D66 and ChristenUnie, the children’s pardon was replaced by a broad regulation for ‘existing cases’ of parents with rooted children. What became of that arrangement?
