In the document they ask the FPF to let the clubs that signed with Consorcio broadcast their matches.
The conflict between the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) and the teams that signed with Consorcio continues. This problem has led to the Association of Professional Soccer Players of Peru (Safap) having to pronounce itself seeking a solution to the dispute. In a statement, the entity asked the FPF to allow the clubs to fulfill their contract with the operator they signed.
Eleven clubs from League 1 confirmed the receipt of a large amount of 1190 Sports for TV rights
The Peruvian first division teams issued a statement explaining the reasons for their position in favor of the FPF.
In the first paragraph of their brief, they emphasized the change suffered by the precautionary measure. It mentions that only television channels that are authorized by the Federation will be able to broadcast the 2023 League 1 matches.
“Last week the FPF obtained a variation of the precautionary measure that provides for the suspension of contracts that do not have its authorization or express approval until the conclusion of the civil-commercial process,” reads the Safap official letter.
Clubs are in conflict with the FPF for television rights.
That being said, the union requests the FPF to allow nine clubs to have their matches broadcast by GOLPERU. The argument is that no team is affected in their income.
Delegate of Alianza Lima explained the differences between the TV rights plan of GOLPERU and the FPF
Héctor Ordóñez implied that the project of the federation and company is very unreliable and defended the Consorcio Fútbol Perú.
“In this sense, in order to unblock the situation presented at the start of the tournament, we suggest that the FPF proceed to authorize the clubs Alianza Lima, Universitario, Binacional, Carlos Mannucci, FBC Melgar, Deportivo Municipal, Cienciano, Sport Boys and Cusco FC to broadcast their matches with the operator with which they have a contract, leaving the legal discussion of the issue to the Judiciary,” said the representative of the soccer players.
Finally, Safap closed its statement with the hope that the local championship begins as soon as possible. They also mentioned that they also hope that all teams can participate without any problem in the tournament.

“In this way we could have the start of League 1 with the certainty of the participation of all the clubs,” reads the letter of the Footballers’ Association.
Lander Alemán, the President of the Competitions Commission and Alianza Atlético, called a meeting to reach agreements on the issue of broadcasting rights. Only 11 of the 19 teams that were cited attended. After the meeting ended, they wrote a document in which they expressed their support for the FPF and revealed the details of the new proposal that was presented to them.
President of the ADFP assured that he will not withdraw the complaint against Agustín Lozano
Óscar Romero also affirmed that the boss of the FPF wants his departure from the ADFP due to past quarrels.
The clubs that signed that official letter are the following:
– Sporting Cristal
– ADT
– Technical University of Cajamarca
– Cesar Vallejo University
– Athletic Grade
– Athletic Alliance
– Academia Cantolao
– Deportivo Garcilaso
-Sport Huancayo
– Trade Union
– Carlos A. Mannucci.
These sports institutions criticized the absence of the eight remaining teams: Universitario de Deportes, Alianza Lima, Sport Boys, FBC Melgar, Deportivo Binacional, Deportivo Municipal, Cusco FC and Cienciano. All the clubs insisted that even though they have not attended the meeting, the possibilities of dialogue and reaching an agreement will still be open.
Another aspect that they mentioned in their text is about receiving a large amount of money. The document explains that the amount they received as an initial payment is 500 thousand dollars. The sports company 1190 Sports has the solvency to cover these expenses, since they have a fund of 10 billion dollars.
In the official letter, they also emphasized that one more club accepted the terms of the sports company. This is Deportivo Municipal that currently has a contract with GOLPERU. The ‘ediles’ will respect their current contract and then join the other institutions.
