Excelsior Rotterdam has immediately taken over midfielder Noah Naujoks from Feyenoord, the Kralingers report on Monday evening. At city rivals Sparta Rotterdam, a player is leaving, namely Omar Rekik. The loan contract with the Arsenal player has ended.
Twenty-year-old Naujoks signs a contract with Excelsior for 2.5 years, with an option for another season. The midfielder made his debut for Feyenoord this year and came to two official matches in the main squad, but thanks to the fierce competition in midfield at the Eredivisie leader, he had no prospect of more playing time.
At Excelsior, Naujoks is the third reinforcement of this transfer window after Kik Pierie (Ajax, rent) and Peer Koopmeiners (AZ, rent). The formation of trainer Marinus Dijkhuizen is currently fourteenth in the Eredivisie.
Sparta also had transfer news to report on Monday evening. The club from Spangen ended the lease with central defender Rekik. The 21-year-old brother of Sevilla defender Karim Rekik returns to Arsenal, where he is under contract until 2025. The counter was stuck for him this season at six raids at Sparta.
FC Twente announced that Christos Tzolis will return to Norwich City immediately. The Greek has been rented from the English club since the start of this season. Tzolis sustained a knee injury during the away match against Feyenoord in October and was unable to play for FC Twente until the winter break. “Christos sustained a knee injury in October and spent several months at Norwich for his long rehabilitation,” FC Twente reports on the website.
