A father who experiences a terrible tragedy asks people to forgive his wife who allegedly killed their three children before attempting suicide.
Patrick Clancy from Duxbury, Massachusetts tells a GoFundMe page set up by his family how happy he was to be a father and talks about his three children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.
“The shock and pain are excruciating and relentless. I constantly remember them and with my little sleep, I dream of them over and over,” wrote the father of the three little victims, reports People. “Cora, Dawson and Callan were the essence of my life and I’m completely lost without them.”
Callan “died with tremendous courage despite being so small. Maybe it was his way of showing what I need to do to move forward, ”continues the dad.
Lindsay Clancy, 32, allegedly strangled her three children at the family home last week before attempting suicide by jumping from a 2nd floor window.
Her husband had been absent for 25 minutes to get takeout when she allegedly committed the irreparable, according to a family friend quoted by People. It was he who called 911 when he returned home last Tuesday to ask for help.
Cora and Dawson died in hospital shortly after the crimes. Little Callan succumbed to his injuries on Friday, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
Patrick Clancy explains that his wife Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis or depression at the time of the alleged murders.
Despite the drama, the American found good words for his wife.
“Our marriage was wonderful and grew stronger as his condition rapidly worsened. I was proud to be her husband as I was to be a father and I always felt lucky to have her in my life,” recalls the bereaved father.
Mr. Clancy asks people who followed the drama to forgive his wife.
“I ask you all to find the courage within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I did.”
“The real Lindsay was generous, loving and caring to everyone: me, our children, our family, our friends and her patients. All I wish for her now is that she can find peace one way or another,” he adds courageously.
At the time of the tragedy, Lindsay Clancy was on leave from her job as a neonatal nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, reports People. “We are saddened and in shock to learn of this tragedy. We send our deepest condolences to all those affected by these events,” the hospital said in a statement.
According to a family member, Lindsay Clancy attended a mental health program five days a week to try to deal with her problems.
