In November 2020, L’Arche announces the continuation of the investigation work on Jean Vanier, its founder, with the establishment of a study commission responsible for “better measuring the impact of the facts brought to light about Thomas Philippe and then John Vanier”.
The work was entrusted to six researchers outside the community: the historians Antoine Mourges and Florian Michel, the sociologist and anthropologist Claire Vincent-Mory, the psychiatrists and psychoanalysts Bernard Granger and Nicole Jeammet, as well as the theologian Gwennola Rimbaut.
For two years they met every month, in dialogue with a scientific council. The report, the result of their work, was made public on January 30. It can be consulted on the Internet: https://commissiondetude-jeanvanier.org/commissiondetudeindependante2023-empriseetabus/
