The top 10 most popular movies in theaters now

The latest cinema figures are back in so it’s time for the weekly cinema top 10. The most popular film this week is still Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), the highly anticipated sequel to Avatar (2009).

Also the Dutch De Tatta’s (2022) is still extremely popular. In addition, Colin Farrell also scores in the Oscar-nominated drama film The Banshees of Inisherin (2022) full houses, as well Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022). The films are haunted by the spectacular Babylon (2022). New in the top 10 is also The Eight Mountains (2022).

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

Opening Times • ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ takes place more than ten years after the events of the first film. The film tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children) and the challenges they encounter, the efforts they make to protect each other, the battles they face to stay alive and the tragedies that they endure. 6.1 Cinema times • Who wouldn’t want to get rich? Well, Erik van Kampen (Leo Alkemade) certainly is. Then he can buy an even bigger villa for his family living together. 7.9

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)

Cinema Times • Brave, outlaw Puss in Boots finds that his passion for danger and disregard for safety have taken their toll. 7.8

The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)

Movie Times • Padraic (Colin Farrell) has been best friends with Colm (Brendan Gleeson) for many years. However, their friendship is jeopardized when Colm refuses to speak to Padraic overnight. 7.6 Cinema Times • ‘Babylon’ is set in 1920s Hollywood, during the transition from silent films to talkies, and focuses on a mix of historical and fictional characters. 6.7 Cinema Times • International intelligence service Five Eyes recruits MI6 agent Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) to prevent the sale of a new, deadly weapon technology that threatens to disrupt the world order.

Cinema times • The maestro’s first recorded concert in the Irish capital in over 20 years. Join André, his Johann Strauss orchestra, the sopranos, tenors and other guests for a celebration filled with romantic melodies, popular classics, party numbers and the much-loved waltzes. 7.5

Triangle of Sadness (2022)

Movie Times • A cruise for the super rich sinks and the survivors, including a celebrity couple, become trapped on an island. 6.5 Movie Times • M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll programmed to be a child’s best companion and a parent’s greatest ally. 7.8 Cinema times • ‘De Acht Bergen’ tells the story of the special friendship between the urbane Pietro and Bruno, a boy from the mountains.
