Hakim Ziyech faces a surprising move to Paris Saint-Germain. According to various media, the French top club reached an agreement on Monday with Chelsea, the current employer of the former Ajax player.
The 29-year-old Ziyech is probably rented by PSG from Chelsea. According to VI, the transfer will be completed on Tuesday, the last day of the transfer market. Earlier this winter, Ziyech was already linked to Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and AC Milan, among others.
In the summer of 2020, Ziyech moved from Ajax to Chelsea for more than 40 million euros. Although he was occasionally in the starting line-up, he was never able to develop into a regular force in South West London.
Even after his strong performance during the last World Cup with Morocco, his chance of playing time at Chelsea was limited. Chelsea, which is having a disappointing season in the Premier League, has already brought in numerous new players this winter and has already spent around 500 million euros on incoming transfers this football year.
Ziyech has played for Ajax since the summer of 2016, which took him over from FC Twente for 11 million euros on one of the last days of the transfer market. In Amsterdam he was one of the trendsetters for many years and won several prizes.
