A CHSLD, a daycare, a community center… The Happy Rokken seniors’ home near Osaka is a mix of all of these… and it works very well!
“We have about 200 people a week who come to see us,” says founder Yoshihiro Shuto. Needless to say, the 40 senior residents who live in his care home never miss a visit.

Even in Japan, the Happy Rokken house acts as an exception. If the tradition in the country has long been for children to take care of their parents, the appearance and multiplication of CHSLDs in the land of the rising sun has become inevitable with the ever-increasing number of seniors.
