Lago Escondido, the meeting place
Weeks ago, the newspaper Página 12 revealed a trip to Lago Escondido to the ranch of British tycoon Joe Lewis made by a group of judges, prosecutors, businessmen and officials from Buenos Aires. In the last few hours, the issue has gained more attention after the leak of alleged chats from the Telegram application between those involved to coordinate a public version of the reasons for the trip.
The origin of the leak is attributed to a hack suffered on October 19 by the Buenos Aires Security Minister, Marcelo D’Alessandro, although another of the passengers on the flight was also hacked: the Economic Criminal Judge Pablo Yadarola. Both made criminal complaints.
In statements to Radios Con Vos, D’Alessandro maintained that “the Telegram group” did not exist and spoke of a “montage”, with “edited and assembled” audios.
In the alleged messages, those involved speak -among other things- of falsifying invoices to justify their presence in the province of Río Negro. They also allude to an alleged “good predisposition” by the federal prosecutor of Bariloche Cándida Etchepare to “close” the first legal case that was opened for the episode.
The national chain of Alberto Fernández
That file began on October 24 as a result of a complaint by the lawyer Marcelo Eduardo Hertzriken Velasco. Far from closing the case, the prosecutor launched the investigation yesterday and accused the ten people involved. In the request, to which Infobae had access, the prosecutor reconstructed how the events were from the arrival in Bariloche until his return to Buenos Aires.
As a result of this, Alberto Fernández made a national chain to instruct the Ministry of Justice to denounce those involved. The same happened with the representative of the Executive in the Council of the Magistracy, who denounced the four federal judges who traveled.
