Philips will announce a new round of layoffs on Monday, the Eindhovens Dagblad reports on Friday. It would concern more than a thousand jobs at the Dutch branch of the healthcare technology department, although Philips does not want to confirm the numbers yet.
CEO Roy Jakobs will present the annual figures on Monday. Then he will probably also provide more clarity about the reorganization. Philips is heading for a loss of more than 1.5 billion euros over the past year.
It is the second time in three months that Philips has announced a reorganization. At the end of October last year, 4,000 jobs were cut.
When the round of layoffs was announced, Jakobs already hinted that more was about to happen. To help “Philips have a strong future”, he would be working on a new plan. During the presentation of the annual figures, the CEO will also announce the plans for the coming years.
