NAC Breda booked a big win over Young AZ on Friday when coach Peter Hyballa returned. The team from Breda won 5-1 in the Rat Verlegh Stadium, while Heracles Almelo lost 1-0 to nine FC Eindhoven players. The club from Almelo is therefore falling further behind in the title fight in the Kitchen Champion Division.
Hyballa coached NAC for five months in 2020 and after trainer jobs in Poland, Denmark, Germany and Slovakia, he was back in the dugout in Breda on Friday evening as successor to the dismissed Robert Molenaar.
The German saw Jesaja Hermann score for mid-engine NAC after twelve minutes and after the break the score increased further due to a hat-trick by Odysseus Velanas and a goal by Ezechiel Banzuzi. Velanas’ first goal was a striking penalty kick. Just before time, Jurre van Aken made something more bearable for Jong AZ, which is seventh.
PEC Zwolle had a good evening at the top of the Kitchen Champion Division. The leader won convincingly against TOP Oss (4-1) and was three points ahead of number two Heracles. Younes Taha, Apostolos Vellios, Lennart Thy and Dean Huiberts scored for PEC and in between Rick Dekker was accurate on behalf of low flyer TOP.
Heracles was 0-1 behind in the top match against number three FC Eindhoven after 31 minutes due to a goal from Evan Rottier. Fifteen minutes before the end, Rottier was sent off and three minutes later Charles-Andreas Brym also had to leave. Heracles chased the equalizer in the Jan Louwers Stadium, but the nine Eindhoven players held on.
