Judicial Commitment, one of the groups of national and federal judges, criticized the start of the political trial of the members of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation that began yesterday in a preparatory session in the Chamber of Deputies and claimed the national government for Vacancies in the Judiciary.
“Faced with the preparatory acts of the Political Trial Commission of the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Nation, in relation to the complaints made against the Ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, we reiterate our strong concern about the institutional risk that such a proceeding causes, to the extent that such a proceeding is based on the content of their sentences,” said Judicial Commitment through a statement.
The reference is to the fact that the government proposed the impeachment of Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti for their rulings on the National Judicial Council, the co-participation funds of the city of Buenos Aires and cases of crimes against humanity.
The entity proposed that “a work agenda must be drawn up at the beginning of 2023 to consolidate and put the institutions into operation and assume the role that is our responsibility to achieve the balance that the Constitution demands for a peaceful and republican state of government, advancing on the real and daily problems, both of justice and of society”.

Along these lines, he raised a historical deficit in the Judiciary: the vacancies for national and federal judges. “Only among the 602 National and Federal Courts and Tribunals in the country, to date there are 241 vacancies, of which 51 are under consideration by the Executive Power and 24 in the National Senate,” he explained.
“In this way, what happened in the compound moves us to urge the authorities of the other powers to work together to put aside particular issues and move forward to provide society with a more agile, efficient and functioning justice system. Only on the basis of respect for the National Constitution can the foundation of a more just and democratic country be laid ”, he concluded.
The Political Judgment Commission began yesterday the debate for the process against the judges of the highest court with harsh crosses between the ruling party and the opposition. The Commission will meet again next Thursday at 11 am.
the harsh message of deputy Alejandro “Topo” Rodríguez in the Commission that debates the impeachment of the Supreme Court
“We come with the intention of discussing everything that needs to be discussed. We did not come with the intention of making political considerations. We believe that we are facing a situation of extreme institutional gravity”, stated Germán Martínez, president of the Frente de Todos bloc. “Clearly the intention of the Government is to wear one of the most important institutions of the Republic. What the ruling party, which is setting up this political circus, is showing today is that the only consistent policy has been the attempt to co-opt the Judiciary and the search for impunity for the vice president,” said Graciela Ocaña, a representative of Together for Change. in one of the responses from the opposition, a sector from which they stated that the impeachment trial will not prosper because the ruling party does not have the votes to approve it in the venue.

There were also tense crosses. “With all due respect, and I say it with affection, I don’t seem to start by pointing out that those of us who think differently can be employees of dark powers… I’m telling you (Rodolfo) Tailhade, that you said that I think that the trial politician is not going to advance because I am afraid of a means of communication and that I do politics with fear. I am not afraid of any means of communication and I am not afraid of you either, Tailhade,” Peronist deputy Alejandro “Topo” Rodríguez told him.
“I speak how I want, Deputy Negri. Let me finish the idea and say what I want ”, said the deputy Vanesa Siley (FDT) when she spoke and Mario Negri’s word was heard in the background, with opinions on his words. “Deputy Negri, deputy Banfi, please let the use of the floor end without interruption,” the commission president Carolina Gaillard then requested.
“They tell you how you have to speak, how you have to think, they tell you what you have to say. I am closely following the commission. I was respecting everyone and everyone,” Siley continued by way of complaint. And then, before the president’s request to give the floor to Negri, so that the deputy could express his idea, Siley concluded: “No, I do not grant him the interruption for machirulo. I keep talking about what he was saying.”
