Which The Last of Us (2023‑ ) is well received, HBO Max has also noticed. After just two episodes, the streaming service decides to take the plunge: the acclaimed series with Pedro Pascal will have a sequel anyway.
A second season
HBO Max just announced the good news via their socials. The news is not completely unexpected, given that this series received so much budget from the service that it was to be expected that they would want to get several seasons out of this.
Drukmann enthusiastically
Neil Druckmann, writer and director of the original games and a contributor to the series, is overwhelmed by the good news. In a statement, he says he is happy with the high viewing figures of the first two episodes.

The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast and HBO exceeded my already high expectations. Now we have the absolute pleasure of being able to do it again with season two! The second episode of The Last of Us is now streaming on HBO Max. A new episode is released every Monday at 3:00 AM, with a total of nine episodes. The season finale comes out on 13 March.
