A security camera collected the images of the attack on Friday against the embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran. After crashing into a diplomatic car, a gunman enters the embassy with a Kalashnikov and starts shooting at two people who had just entered. One of them is fatally shot.
A third man from the embassy pounces on the attacker and manages to subdue him after a struggle.
The deceased was the head of security of the diplomatic legation. Two other guards were injured.
After his arrest, the shooter, an Iranian national and married to an Azeri woman, alleged personal reasons and denounced that his wife had been held at the embassy for 9 months.
From Azerbaijan there is talk of a terrorist attack and Tehran is demanded to carry out a rapid investigation and punish those responsible.
Baku has summoned the Iranian ambassador and has denounced the existence of an anti-Azerbaijani campaign in Iran when bilateral relations are going through one of their most difficult moments.
