Good morning! Today the Nelson Mandela Bridge in Zoetermeer will reopen to pedestrians and cyclists and the most important radio awards of the year will be presented during the Golden RadioRing Gala. Last year, the morning show Mattie & Marieke won the prize.
First the weather: in the south and east there is still a lot of slipperiness due to freezing rain and local snow. Only this afternoon the temperature there will rise above freezing. In other parts of the country it is mainly dry and the sun shines occasionally today.

What can you expect today?
The Nelson Mandela Bridge in Zoetermeer – over the A12 motorway – will reopen for pedestrians and cyclists. The train also stops at Zoetermeer station. Last December, the bridge had to be closed immediately due to construction errors and the risk of collapse. Bridge sections have now received heavy support and an emergency bridge has been installed. Aircraft manufacturer Boeing must appear before a US court because of the two crashes involving 737 MAX aircraft in 2018 and 2019, which killed hundreds of people. Relatives disagree with the settlement that Boeing reached with the judiciary in 2021. The most important radio awards in the Netherlands are awarded in Hilversum. The public rewards the best radio programme, the best presenter and the best podcast with a Golden Radio Ring. A jury also presents the Marconi Awards, including for the best channel of the year.
What did you miss?
The award has previously been awarded to Lawyers for Lawyers (2022), Polish judge Malgorzata Gersdorf (2021) and the Saudi human rights organization ACPRA (2020), among others.
