The governor of Cundinamarca, Nicolás García confirmed an important economic investment for the so-called Troncal del Tequendama, this, after the different demonstrations made by the population regarding the poor condition of the roads.

A few days ago, the inhabitants of the area that connects the municipality of Soacha with La Mesa, blocked the main road corridor, stating that its conditions were deplorable.
The departmental president’s visit to the area allowed him to address the main complaints of the community. According to García, work has been done in this sector for some time and no breaks have been taken, prioritizing the intervention of the road connection of the municipalities that comprise the Tequendama trunk road.

“We respond to the community’s call to resolve their concerns about the works in this corridor, highlighting that we have advanced work to improve the Tequendama trunk, which we have been working on for several months, we have been advancing for several months, a process in the one we have not stopped working on”, he synthesized.
Some time ago, some complaints were made about the road leading up to the El Nuevo Salto toll booth, since both the road network and some speed bumps had flaws. In this regard, Nicolás García assured that the money collected is used to improve spaces for commerce and development on the road that passes through several municipalities in the region.
“Each peso received at the El Nuevo Salto collection booth is invested directly in this road to improve trade and competitiveness along the 78 kilometers it passes through municipalities such as San Antonio del Tequendama, El Colegio and Viotá. ”.
The main investment will be 150 billion pesos for the maintenance of the 78 kilometers of the aforementioned trunk. In this case, everything is focused on the stabilization of the territory and its rehabilitation. The idea is that the project to be executed be defined in February, since the effects generated by geological faults must also be taken into account, which have increased their impact due to the climatic conditions of the area.
“I want to highlight that we additionally managed $130,000 million to intervene in the entire corridor, mainly in the stabilization of the 30 geological faults, overtaking lanes, main and adjacent roads, retaining walls, improvement, maintenance and rehabilitation of the entire corridor, works that they will be defined and specified by the month of February and they represent what would be collected in five years via booth”, he explained.
Taking into account the additional purposes, nine main points were established with the community, among which stand out: reduction of tolls, crash road care plan, routine maintenance plan, work tables with the community, opening preferential quotas for toll booths , services on the road, actions on the Bicentennial bridge, maintaining continuity of leaders and visits to alternate roads.

The measure will work from Monday to Friday and will have two hours: from 5 to 8 in the morning and from 5 to 8 at night.
As part of the agreement that was established, it was possible to determine that the collection of the toll will be frozen until December 31, 2023.
“It is defined to freeze the El Nuevo Salto toll booth rate with prices of 2022 until December 31, 2023, a decree signed during the meeting and which will operate as of this Monday, January 23,” explained the Government of Cundinamarca.
