On the morning of January 25, the politicians Jorge Enrique Robledo and Sergio Fajardo announced that they will join forces to take part in the next regional elections, in accordance with the aforementioned, they will merge the parties they lead today, the Dignity and Citizen Commitment parties. In the midst of the context, the possibility that the former governor of Antioquia would run as a candidate for local elections was rumored, but he made it clear and mentioned that, for now, he is not within his options.
Sergio Fajardo made a harsh x-ray of the Petro Government: “We are not going to reach a good port”
The two-time candidate for the Presidency of the Republic criticized the head of state, the Minister of Mines and left a vehement exhortation about the future of the country
In the space in which the meeting that seeks to consolidate the possible movement of the center was announced, Fajardo began by assuring that although he believes that Bogotá deserves and needs new leadership, well, it is going through a complex moment after the administrations that have led it, but he clarified that he does not plan to govern a city again.
“That city (Bogotá) went from civic culture to being overwhelmed; a city where save yourself who can! A Bogotá trapped in the disputes between the current president Petro, Peñalosa or at this moment of the confrontations between the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá and the Government, it seems pathetic to me if the metro is or is not”, indicated Fajardo.
In this sense, he assured that he is willing to contribute in the process of thinking about a viable proposal for the capital, but that this is not related to being the exponent of those ideas:
I hope to accompany, help, contribute ideas and experience for all this transformation, but I have not considered being a candidate in these elections for any of the positions “

The next hearing will be held on January 26. For now, the prosecution body has not ruled on the case
“We believe in the importance of organizations and the decisions that are made about candidacies will come when they are made. These will be the decisions that the organization makes at the different levels of national life throughout this year,” added former congressman Robledo.
In the announcement of the union of the two movements, the politicians assured that the date they have to make the agreements fully known is February 18 in the city of Bogotá, during the Congress of the movements that was already scheduled by its militants.
Sergio Fajardo and Jorge Robledo threw themselves into the ring: they announce a new party for the regional elections
Far from extremes, the ex-candidates of the Centro Esperanza Coalition merged with their respective movements to try to govern cities and departments
Since in the space the relevant issues will be taken into account both of the consolidation of the movement and where of the central issues, in this sense, on the one hand, the name of the new party, the statutes, the program and the new directives will be defined. . On the other, there will be talk of democracy and peace, the fight against corruption, productive development and the environment, women, diversity and universal rights, education and youth, security and international relations.
In this sense, it is important to clarify that the course will be different from that of the presidential elections, since they will leave aside other alliances that at the time were with those who made up the Centro Esperanza Coalition, where members of the Green Party, New Liberalism were seen , former members of the Liberal Party. The decision would have been made after all the differences that surfaced in 2022 and that caused the center alliance to lose votes in the national elections.
