The meeting was attended by several of the visible faces of the two movements, not only were Sergio Fajardo and Jorge Robledo, but also the representative to the Chamber Jennifer Pedraza, from Dignidad, who has a seat in Bogotá.
In the midst of his answers, Fajardo assured that he would set up a “separate ranch” from his old political allies such as the brothers Carlos Fernando and Juan Manuel Galán, of the New Liberalism, the former governor of Boyacá Carlos Amaya, of the Green Alliance; and Juan Fernando Cristo, who now has a group called En Marcha.
“Doing politics means, among other things, participating in elections. We are going to be in all the places in Colombia where we have people identified with this construction that we are doing. We are summoning many people who have not found a political location and we invite them to participate and look at our principles”, Fajardo assured.

One of the doubts that has plagued citizens the most is whether Jorge Robledo and Sergio Fajardo would compete for any of the positions that will be disputed in October. Both were emphatic that, for now, they have not made those decisions. Although Fajardo said that he will not compete for mayor of Bogotá, Robledo did leave the door open and assured that this will define him in February when, in the company of the other party members, they define who their bishops will be for those dignities.
“We believe in the importance of organizations and the decisions that are made about candidacies will come when they are made. They will be the determinations that the organization makes at the different levels of national life throughout this year”, added Jorge Robledo, who spent more than twenty years in the Congress of the Republic.
In the same way, as this new community joins the long list of so-called alternative political forces, they will promote productive development and the environment, women, diversity and rights, universal rights, education and youth, as well as security and international relations.
Likewise, the new heads of this party invited those interested in competing for a mayoralty or governorship together with them to, from now on, postulate their names. To carry out the procedure, they must fill out a form that will be on the website www.dignidad.co, and that they can also find on the social networks of the new movement.
