Justin Roiland, one of the creators and voice actors of the American animated series Rick and Morty, has to stop working for the show. Roiland was the voice of main characters Rick and Morty and was charged with domestic violence two weeks ago. Producer Adult Swim is now looking for a replacement, The Guardian reports.
Dan Harmon, also one of the creators of the sci-fi sitcom about a genius scientist and his grandson, will be handling the show on his own for now.
Roiland, 42, is accused by an alleged ex-girlfriend of domestic violence and threats, among other things. That would have happened in 2020. The voice actor and cartoonist was also arrested at the time.
Roiland denies the allegations. Last Thursday there was a hearing in the US state of California. Roiland is expected back in court on April 27. It is not known whether the case will also have consequences for the series.
