Morena presented an initiative to sanction thesis plagiarism after the Yasmín Esquivel case
According to Deputy Alejandro Robles, the initiative seeks to punish academic plagiarism due to the existence of a legal vacuum that gives rise to “legal uncertainty and insecurity.”
It was the coordinator of the parliamentary group of the orange party in San Lázaro, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, who proposed on January 24 to make reforms and additions to various articles of the Regulatory Law of the Fifth Constitutional Article, related to the exercise of professions in the City of Mexico (CDMX).
And it is that according to the emecita legislator, despite the fact that the plagiarism carried out by Minister Yasmín Esquivel in her academic work to obtain her degree was verified, until now no actions have been taken to sanction her, since she was only punished and dismissed from the charge to the academic Martha Rodríguez Ortiz, thesis advisor of the former student.

“For the university community it represents a mockery that a server of this magnitude is not sanctioned and, in short, the University itself (National Autonomous of Mexico) and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation evade plagiarism in the thesis of Minister Yasmín dodge”
In this sense, Álvarez Máynez explained that the initiative aims to annul the professional title when substantial copies are found between jobs to obtain a school degree.
