The European Court of Human Rights considers “partially admissible” the lawsuit filed by the Netherlands and Ukraine against Russia for the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
The court examined the downing of the plane and kyiv’s accusations that Moscow was responsible for various violations committed by separatists from the so-called Donetsk and Lugansk republics.
All 298 people on board were killed when the plane plunged to the ground in eastern Ukraine in 2014. The Boeing 777 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was hit by a missile.
