If it is sold for the amount announced, it would become the most expensive property in the Big Apple, with a price of no more and no less than USD 80 million, which in Mexican pesos would be approximately $1,509,068,084.
The mansion that Slim sells has a long history. Known as the Benjamin N. Duke House, it was built between 1899 and 1901 by the firm of Welch, Smith & Provot with inspiration from an Italian palazzo, including classic elements of the Breaux Artz current. Thanks to the remodeling that it has undergone over time, the sale announcement reports that it was built in 1931.
