The fastest metro line in Europe is inaugurated in Istanbul.
According to the Turkish authorities, the trains will run through it at a speed of 90 to 120 km/h, which will allow travelers to reach the Istanbul airport, from the Kagytkhane station, 44 kilometers away, in just 24 minutes.
Erdoğan also stated that after completion of all ongoing projects, the total length of the systems will exceed 380 kilometers. In addition, he assured that traveling on the new metro line will be free.
With this project, the Turkish government intends to give a European dimension to the Istanbul airport, whose construction is scheduled to end in 2025.
