British star Emilia Clarke, known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones (2011–2019), declines to the prequel series House of the Dragon (2022‑ ) to watch. According to the actress, it is not a matter of time, in all likelihood she will simply never look.
Too strange, too weird
House of the Dragon was labeled by many as the best series of the year 2022, but this resounding success cannot convince Clarke either. In a recent interview, the Game of Thrones star explained where her assertiveness comes from:
I just can not. It’s so strange, it’s so strange. No! Can you forgive me? It’s too weird. I’m so glad it’s happening. I’m really over the moon about all the awards, but I just can’t (…) It’s like someone saying, ‘Do you want to go to a school reunion that isn’t your year?’ That’s how it feels. I avoid it.
The idea that Clarke is actually avoiding House of the Dragon will be a special thing for fans to hear, especially since the series is so tied to the character she played in Game of Thrones. The actress previously revealed that she is not interested in a possible return as Daenerys in the Game of Thrones prequel. Will the actress be able to continue avoiding the series?
