INE authorities, parties and the government of Edomex signed an agreement (IEEM)
Facing the electoral elections to be held this 2023, authorities of the National Electoral Institute (INE), signed an agreement with the governor of the State of Mexico (Edomex), Alfredo del Mazo, as well as with the local political parties and the Electoral Institute of State of Mexico (IEEM), in order to respect the processes.

The purpose of the Agreement for Electoral Integrity is to guarantee that the government and political actors commit to respecting electoral regulations, adhering to democratic principles and guaranteeing equitable rules, within the framework of the renewal of the state government.
The president of the INE, Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, specified that in order for the elections to continue being credible, it is necessary that the authorities of the entity, the media and public institutions assume the commitment to respect the rules.

“With this agreement we seek that those who are involved in the elections of the State of Mexico: contenders, authorities and members of local powers, publicly commit to respecting the rules of the democratic game and honor their democratic convictions,” said Córdova.

In addition, he added that it is also sought that those who aspire to the governorship do so without cheating, “without making the contest difficult with false information and respecting the will of the voters issued at the polls.”
For his part, the state president, Del Mazo Maza, guaranteed his commitment to generating conditions of certainty and social security in Edomex, as well as serving electoral institutions, various political forces, and citizen organizations.

“As the State Executive, and with full respect for the electoral process, we commit ourselves to openly attend to electoral institutions, citizen organizations and political parties, and to generate the conditions of governability, stability, that give certainty to the will of the citizens, as well as respect to this important process for our state”, he affirmed.

Eric Sevilla, leader of the PRI in the entity, pointed out that the guinda party filed four complaints before the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico, which, he asserted, lack legal grounds
Said agreement was also signed by the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF), and the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Mexico. The president magistrate of the TEPJF, Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón, asserted that the Mexican political regime has built free, clean and transparent elections; however, he pointed out that “bad practices” still persist.
He also added that the Court will be in charge of resolving “with impartiality and transparency” the controversies that arise in the process, since it will be judged from the perspective of “electoral integrity”, taking care of the political rights of citizens.
Voting will take place on July 4 (IEEM)
Among the commitments signed is that the elections are authentic, professional, impartial and transparent; also protect the vote, considered the principle of the will; refrain from carrying out acts that affect freedom and, also, open up to public scrutiny.
In addition, it included the commitment to promote non-discrimination and seek inclusion, combat violence of any kind and bad political practices in the face of the election that will summon 12.5 million Mexicans, according to Leticia Victoria Tavira, magistrate of the Court local electoral
The agreement was signed by the leaders of each political institute in the state. On behalf of Acción Nacional (PAN) signed Anuar Figueroa; of the Institutional Revolutionary (PRI), Eric Sevilla, and Ángel Agustín Barrera of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), who make up the Va por México alliance, promoting the PRI member Alejandra del Moral.
On behalf of the Juntos Haremos Historia coalition, led by Delfina Gómez, signed the leader of Morena, Martha Guerrero Sánchez; Norberto Morales Poblete of the Labor Party (PT) and José Alberto Couttolenc, of the Green Party (PVEM).
